Chihuly garden and glass Seattle

This is the second highest ranked attraction on tripadviser in Seattle and we loved it. We even managed to get our own professional photographer to take photos of us enjoying it. This is probably a little how Macrina and Dan felt yesterday when they got married, the main difference being that they went to more effort with their outfits and had loads of friends and family watching.
The glass was beautiful and some was planted in the garden to make it look like flowers. Mr Chihuly was also the guy who did the ceiling at the reception of the Bellagio Hotel if you have ever been to Las Vegas.
Ps he also did a lot of indoor exhibits in the dark.

Saturday in Seattle

Got up fairly early, and was out and about and looking for breakfast by 8 ish. Unfortunately, Seattle doesn't wake up that early so took us a while to find some sourdough butties and coffee.
Lovely weather and wandered round almost all day.
I think we have seen just about everything downtown, from the Ferris wheel to the Pike Place market  to a steamship on Lake Union.
Also found time to buy a couple of chairs that we can carry with us on our camping trip next year. Surprising but true.

Wonderful Greenland

We don't catch that many flights, and often they are quite boring as it is either night time, or you can't see out of a window, or if you can, it is all cloud covered. Occasionally though, it is truly fantastic, and this is one of those times.
We have flown over Greenland and northern Canada and the scenery is beautiful.
I would really hate it if we were actually down there, but the mountains, snow, glaciers and icebergs, all shining in the sunshine are worth the journey on their own.

Heathrow Airport

Arrived at Heathrow for the start of an exciting trip to America.
We have a long flight ahead of us to Seattle, but with the time difference it will only take an hour and a half.
Daz has just bought himself a new camera in duty free so that will keep him quiet for most of the flight.
Ps our flight is the only one on the board without a gate number so getting a bit concerned. Could take longer than planned.

Tour of Britain

Yet again there is something to see from our living room windows!
This morning the Tour of Britain came past. The only trouble with taking photos is that you don't always appreciate the view yourself at the time.
It was like that today as although they were going slowly, we only had about 10 seconds to take photos and pick Wiggo and Cav out from the bunch of 99 riders.
Thought I saw Brad but no luck with Cav.

Mandala

Just got back from yet another trip to the Market Square, this time to see Mandala.
Excellent show of Asian music and dancing with a spectacular light show on to the Council House.
Turned on the telly to now to find out what happened today in the Tour of Britain and then the closing ceremony of the Paralympics.
