Building our own home

I should have blogged this about a month ago, but better late than never. We are going to build our own home, and this is where we are going to live, eventually. 

Currently it is just a dry field, but fingers crossed, in a couple of years time it will be complete. 

We had our first meeting with our architect today, so have a first draft to consider. We liked his plans and he had a couple of really interesting ideas, but overall his drawings were a bit careful. However, we are at the 'getting to know each other' stage, and he was very pleased when we said that we wanted a more radical look. 

We had a good discussion and he has loads more ideas that he is going to incorporate. 

Our next meeting is in a couple of weeks and I can't wait!
