New home for the goldfish

In terrible weather earlier this year I started the project of building the fish a new home at Bath.

This is how it began as a storage area for all of the wood and rocks from the bottom of the garden.

After a few hours of clearing it got to the next stage.

Then I filled the pond with water and arranged the rocks around it.

Almost there now and we just need some plants and then sit back and wait for it all to settle down.

Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago when I tried really hard to catch my fish in a tiny net, but they weren't having any of it. Darren then bought a huge net that could have landed a small shark that I thought was totally rubbish.

However, last night he caught most of them in a few minutes, and this morning they made the rather bumpy and splashy journey in a box in the boot of the car.

We also put up an anti heron netting arrangement and the fish are all currently exploring their new home.

The fantastic news is that they still seem to like me as they all swam over to see me just now, but it's probably only because they wanted some lunch.
