Living here is so amazing - just drifting off to sleep about 20 minutes ago when it sounded as if a massive bomb had gone off just outside the window. Within a couple of seconds it happened again.
Opened the blinds to see only about 30 people in the Market Square and just about the biggest and loudest firework display I have ever seen being set off from the roof of the Council House!
Totally fantastic and unexpected.
It went on for about 15 minutes and by the time it finished the whole Square was hidden in smoke.
It must have been a full scale practice for something, but no idea what.
