Our cruise started in Valletta, Malta two days ago. We arrived early afternoon after an early flight from Gatwick, checked in and then went for a wander around.
It's a beautiful place and I intended to take more photos, but we stopped for a coffee that turned into a cocktail, and then another.
Unfortunately after that I forgot almost everything, so I am posting it now.
Today we stopped at Split, Croatia which is also beautiful.
We got off the boat almost as soon as we docked and set off on a lovely run.
Firstly through Diocletian's retirement palace (he was a Roman emperor who retired here in the year 305), arty photo by Darren.
Then it was up hundreds of steps to beautiful woodland with fantastic views of the coast.
After a few kilometres heading up and down we reached the promenade and got back to the boat just as most people were on the way out.
We also followed them out after lunch for a slightly slower look around. We found a couple of Roman soldiers who were very popular with the crowds.
Over the centuries a town grew up around the Palace with lots of nooks and crannies and tiny streets.
A quick stop for just a coffee today and then back to the shop.
