Angkor Wat at sunrise 🌅

We met a lovely lady at a restaurant a couple of days ago who told us that everyone gets to Angkor Wat too early for the sunrise. Our hotel wanted us to set off at 5am but we took her advice and went at 5.30.
We got there at around six and the place was completely packed full of hundreds of people, all wielding phones and cameras. It was starting to get light and there was no way that we could get anywhere near the front.
I took lots of pictures of tourists and then waterlilies and lotus flowers in the lake, but then the crowd gradually started to disappear.
By the time the sun actually appeared behind the temple the whole place was almost deserted and we saw the sunrise in peace and quiet.
