Salamanca

I can't work out if I had already heard of Salamanca, or it sounds familiar because it is very similar to the James Bond baddy called Scaramanga.
Whatever the reason, we are in yet another spectacular and ancient Spanish town.
The weather has been wet all day, so we turned the day upside down.  We stayed at home until the middle of the afternoon and then went out exploring.
I had read about the Plaza Mayor, so we headed there for a couple of drinks and tapas. It got dark while we were inside and once we got back out the Plaza looked amazing - pic one just shows a small section of it.
We then wandered through the brightly illuminated town and were completely wowed by the amazing churches and university buildings.
