Gion district, Kyoto

We are staying in the centre of Kyoyo now and spent a pleasant afternoon wandering around the Gion district. This is traditionally where the geishas lived and worked and it is full of historic buildings, temples and beautiful gardens.
My guidebook says that it is made even more touristy by the tourists who dress up as geishas and and add so much extra colour to my photos.
