Today we caught the bullet train for the 40 minute journey to Okayama. We had two targets in mind for today - the Korakuen Gardens which are next to Okayama Castle, and a giant suspension bridge that goes from the mainland of Japan to an island called Shikoku.
We decided to visit the bridge first, on a train across the bridge with the idea of stopping at the other side and enjoying great views of the bridge.
Well, when we got across it was cold, raining and we couldn't see the bridge. After a quick discussion we decided to just get off the train, wait four minutes and catch another train back to Okayama.
This is the best I can do, which is a photo from the bridge.
Back in Okayama, and the rain had stopped.
We walked over to the Korakuen Gardens, which describes itself as one of the three most beautiful gardens in Japan.
Daz said that it wasn't even in the top three that we have seen so far.
However, it was very nice, but in a few weeks times it will look spectacular.
The castle was also good, although like Hiroshima, it was completely destroyed in World War Two and rebuilt.
