Great result today because we caught the famous Hello Kitty Shinkansen (bullet train). I was worried that it might be full and that we wouldn't be able to get on it, but apparently there aren't as many cat fans catching the train between Himeji and Okayama on a wet weekday in February as I thought there might be.
We got off the amazing cat experience, and caught a slow and rackety train to Kurashiki. It has an excellent historical area with a canal and old attractive buildings, which are quite a rarity in Japan.
We then found not only a nice wine bar, but also a good Indian restaurant - both of which are unusual in Japan.
