Barbate and Vejer de la Frontera

Off on a triangular shaped cycle ride today. First angle was along the coast to Barbate. The weather was gorgeous when we arrived, but soon a storm was brewing offshore.
The thunder was ominously loud, so rather than risk cycling to our next destination,  we sat in the sun with a coffee. The clouds stayed just offshore, so we decided to delay leaving and do a bit of shopping. The storm still hadn't moved and if we hadn't delayed we could easily have already been safely and dryly in Vejer.
It was a case of who blinked first, us or the rain, so we decided to start the second side of our triangle. Obviously, we made it to the just past the edge of town before the rain set in.
Fortunately, we came across a lovely open fronted conservatory where we ate chocolates and drank Diet Coke to wait it out.
Once the rain slowed we set off again, and surprise, Vejer de la Frontera was at the top of a mountain!  Hot and sweaty work up the switchback roads, but a beautiful town came into view.
I do like these white villages/towns that are scattered all over southern Spain. We had a quick look around then free wheeled down the other side and halfway home.
