Last night we cycled to the British Ploegsteert Memorial to hear The Last Post to remember the 11,447 British soldiers and officers who were never found and classed as missing in action.
We almost didn't get there as Darren had a puncture, and then we had to race 10k to get there. We were in luck as the wind pushed us along and it almost all seemed to be easy.
Today we cycled almost 50k following hundreds of hexagonal shaped signs. We only missed one and managed to get back on the route again quite quickly.
It was a lovely journey along deserted roads, with the rolling countryside all around us.
It was a windy day and in contrast to last night, almost all of it seemed difficult. We had a beer stop to try and get some energy into our legs, and now we are back I am planning to put my feet up for rest of the day.
