We have driven across Belgium and popped out the other side today! We are just over the border near to Maastrict and a little place called Valkenburg.
As we only arrived at lunchtime we decided to take a walk to Valkenburg and save Maastrict for a full day tomorrow.
It turns out that Valkenburg is a major tourist town with streets packed full of bars and restaurants, and thousands of chairs out in the open air.
Unfortunately, it was not a good day to sit outside, but we found a lovely place with a large canopy and outdoor heaters.
There was a little stream running through the town centre, and a very cheeky lady statue on a bridge over it.
We liked the town a lot and will have to revisit on a sunnier day.
