One of the first surprises about Leeds Castle is that it is nowhere near Yorkshire. In fact it is hundreds of miles away in Kent, and I have no idea why.
Another possibly even bigger surprise is that it costs £24 per person to visit it!!
Finally, one of its main attractions is a 'world famous Dog Collar collection'.
I had been really looking forward to visiting, but once I discovered facts two and three, I rapidly went off the plan.
Instead I found out that public footpaths criss cross the castle grounds, so we had a little wander around without going in through the front gates.
I think we saw the best of it which I have summed up in two photos.
