Bridge on the River Kwai

Done the tourist thing today and been to all of the sights in Kanchanaburi. Started at the immaculately maintained Second World War Cemetery and the museum.
The number of people who died building the railway is terrible. The British had 30,131 prisoners of war working on building the railway line and 6,904 died. In total, just over 250,000 people were involved and almost 100,000 died to build 415 kilometres of track.
The bridge today is still the original and they have a mini train that goes over the bridge. Of course we had to try it out.
