Caught a ferry today from Ao Nang to an island nearby called Koh Lanta.
We docked alongside the main street and our hotel is only about six doors away. The whole of the hotel is built on wooden stilts above the water. It is all single storey and is mainly polished wooden boards with half inch gaps between them.
We have paid extra for our own balcony overlooking the water. It is lovely and we have our own hammock and day beds.
It is a bit back to nature though and there are some inquisitive ants in the bedroom, but hopefully they will stay on the floor and we will stay on the bed.
